What is Fidyah
Fidyah is a form of substitute worship to redeem oneself, in the form of payment for any shortfall in fasting.
The fidyah for fasting is to feed the poor with one cup of basic food ingredient (e.g. rice) for each day of obligatory fasting missed for certain reasons. The obligatory fasts include the fast during the month of Ramadan, the fast of kaffarah, and the fast of vows.
