The Grand Palace is the most famous landmark in Bangkok. It was the official home of Thai kings for over 150 years. Inside the palace grounds, you will also find Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of Emerald Buddha. This temple is one of the most important in Thailand and is beautifully decorated with gold, mosaics and statues. But remember that it’s better for you to dress modestly with no shorts and sleeveless shirts.

Wat Arun stands by the Chao Phraya River and is known for its tall central tower (called a prang) decorated with colourful pieces of porcelain. It’s especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. You can climb up the tower for a great view of the river and the city. Take a river boat to get there for a more scenic trip.

If you love shopping or want to try local street food, this is the place for you to go. Chathucak Market is one of the biggest markets in the world with over 8,000 stalls. Everything you can find here like clothes, souvenirs, plants, art and tasty Thai snacks.
Some tips: Do wear comfortable clothes, shoes and don’t forget to bring cap. It gets very hot and busy!

Wat Pho is home to the famous golden reclining Buddha, which is 46 meters long. It’s a peaceful temple with beautiful buildings, gardens and a traditional Thai massage school. This temple is also one of the oldest in Bangkok. Do visit in the morning to avoid crowds.
